Michael Jackson’s brain was not their when his body lay in the golden casket at his memorial service, it has been confirmed.
The late King of Pop’s brain has been kept for toxicology tests by experts who want to find out the singer’s fatal heart attack was caused by painkillers.
"As soon as we are done with the brain, we’ll return it. The last I heard, they are not burying the body yet," the Sun quoted assistant chief coroner Ed Winter as saying.
The ‘Thriller’ hitmaker’s death certificate - signed by sister La Toya - lists the cause of death as deferred.
Recently, Los Angeles Coroner’s spokesman Craig Harvey said that neuropathology tests are going to be conducted to see if the brain holds any clues to the exact cause of Jackson’s death.
However, the examination cannot start until at least two weeks after the death when the brain has hardened sufficiently to slice it open.
Sources at the coroner’s office revealed that his brain was removed before his body was released to relatives the next day. (ANI)

Because the performers for “We Are the World” and “Heal the World” were not identified in the handouts at the Staples Center, a lot of people were wondering who this mystery singer was. Rolling Stone later revealed her identity as Judith Hill, a Pasadena, California-based vocalist who was to be one of the backup singers for Jackson’s This Is It! concerts at London’s O2 Arena. And, yes, it turns out this woman is indeed partly-Asian, her bio says: “Judith was born in Los Angeles and raised in a family of musicians. Her mother is an immigrant from Japan who met her father in a funk band in the 1970s.” (Check her myspace!) I thought she did an amazing job, especially considering that she and many of the other performers on stage were actually rehearsing with Michael just two weeks ago for the shows in London. Celebrity star Brooke Shields reminisces Michael Jackson
LOS ANGELES — Brooke Shields was 13 when she first met Michael Jackson and the two "instantly became friends" — mainly because sexual tension was off the table.
The 44-year-old actress is among the stars who shared their memories of Jackson with Rolling Stone magazine for a special issue in his honor, on sale Friday.
Shields says the two became close because sexuality wasn't a part of their friendship. She describes her teenage self as "the most celebrated virgin ever."
She says Jackson became "more asexual" to her as they got older. She remembers him being curious about her early relationships and says the pop star "was like a little kid who talked about the bases — what first base was, what second base was."
